Red Stripes
We originally acquired one male and three female red stripes in the winter of 2000. Since then we have been selective color breeding and out breeding them for more intense orange, bolder, and cleaner stripes. We did this by taking the best red stripes that we produced in 2002 and out bred them into brightly colored bold stripes and orange rainbow stripes. We continued to out breed our red stripe stock in 2003 and we produced a large variety of red stripes to choose from for our new breeders in 2004. When we picked out the breeders for 2004 we were very selective on what we chose to breed. When the babies hatched in the 2004 season the results were amazing all the traits that we were breeding for showed up on a good number of red stripes. We picked out all the red stripes with the best qualities to breed for 2005. We selected the red stripes that kept the most vivid, intense, deep orange, bold, stripes, and the red stripes that had the least amount of black. We selected the best looking red stripes and raised them up past 40 grams and then we hand picked the red stripes that kept these extraordinary colors. We have some amazing looking red stripes for this breeding season but they will start to breed a little later than usual this year. We will start offering more red stripes for sale in the end of 2007 and all of 2008.
